Dmitry Podolsky has got his PhD from Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics. He currently works as postdoc at Case Western Reserve University. He is also one of the editors of NEQNET.

Happy early Saturday, science geeks! Here is a little gift for you which will hopefully help you to sleep better (that’s what I am going to do now 324. Video of the day: nice visualizations of elementary particles ) – nice visualizations of elementary particles 324. Video of the day: nice visualizations of elementary particles It is not like they have anything to do with reality, but I liked the idea very much. The set includes: W-boson, some leptons, up quark, gluons and even graviton! All explanations are given by Dr. Manhattan himself.

Hope you’ll enjoy it 324. Video of the day: nice visualizations of elementary particles

An excellent visualization of the Standard Model; time well spent. It reinforces concepts previously ‘studied’ but not fully grasped.

Do you know which retired rich physicist is behind this Cassiopeia project? See more about it at

      Don’t have a slightest idea :-) Maybe, Murray Gell-Mann?

So why is it no longer available? It’s only 2 days after posting.

      Hi Randy,

I checked the issue – indeed, sometimes playlist stops playing (if I play it continuously) in Firefox saying that video is not available? the same issue actually holds for my other playlists. There seems to be some bug on Youtube with embedded playlists, since the videos are there – to watch all the videos in the playlist, try to switch between them by clicking arrows on the left and the right side of the frame.

      Cheers,
      Dmitry.
