James Philip Kotsybar started the hypno-musical Versonics: The Verse That Can Happen which performed at L.A.'s Llhasa Club, Beyond Baroque Gallery and The Performing Arts Center, with recordings later broadcast on KCSB 91.9 FM in Santa Barbara. He merited publication in 2AM Magazine, Prophetic Voices, Poetic Justice, and various small press literary journals. He founded and sponsored R.A.I.L. (Readers And Interested Listeners), which combined featured poets with open-mike readings and became a part of the Santa Barbara Poetry Festival. Invited back to KCSB radio to read his poetry on the programs The Art Of Peace and Music Soup, he continued as a regular monthly guest on Music Soup for a year. Currently he is producing videos of his poetry for the Santa Barbara Television Channels (Channels 17 & 21) and website (sbchannels.net). He co-owns Chaotic Exotics orchid nursery where he breeds his own orchids for sale, and is an accredited judge for the American Orchid Society.

Dmitry has been kind enough to offer me space here.  I hope I can live up to being the bard of physics. I may include verse dealing with other sciences such as biology.  I hope it continues to amuse all who happen here.

James Ph. Kotsybar

The physicists in their studies transcribe
formulae that define reality.
Theirs is a cloistered yet secular tribe
that daily deals with strict duality.
Foremost, their math must be made to agree,
precisely, with all that can be observed,
though, often, what we are able to see
can misinform; they must not be unnerved.
To gain acceptance, they are overseen
by peers and the harshly economic,
while pressured to find covenant between
the classical and the subatomic,
and, though they cannot see their superstring,
keep faith that it will answer everything.
