Hi Dmitry,

Thank you very much for the update. How unfortunate. Still it seems like it's only a matter of time before the perfect ebook reader for physicists gets put out into the market. Until then!

Best,
Michael

Hi Michael,

No, after some thinking I decided not to buy - at least two people confirmed that conversion does not really work well, and that's the major factor for me.

After Thorsten mentioned iLiad, I got interested but discovered today that the thing does not actually have a very impressive battery life. Some people even report 4.5 hours???? - I mean, what's the point to use E-ink, my old Palm is still able to work for 4.5 hours :-)

Sorry to disappoint you,
Dmitry.

Hi Dmitry,

Sorry I just finished reading the comment section of your Kindle 2 posting and I guess my last comment was premature. Do you plan on making a decisive ebook reader purchase at some point in the near future? You seem to be very particular about the features in the same way I am thus I am likely to purchase any product that you endorse. Please keep us posted!

Best,
Michael

Hi Dmitry,

This is sort of off topic. But after reading your post on the kindle 2, I too am now very interested in purchasing one mainly for the purpose of reading arxiv papers. I was wondering if you could make it a point some time in early March to report on just how effectively mathematical equations translate over to kindle text format. This would be a great service to all of us!
