Dmitry Podolsky has got his PhD from Landau Institute for Theoretical Physics. He currently works as postdoc at Case Western Reserve University. He is also one of the editors of NEQNET.
Each of them has a different PSU but all of them take energy from the electromagnetic waves of the plate beneath them, don’t they? This method can transfer energy pretty well at several meters today.
I remember buying a toothbrush several years ago, via ubid.com. It was getting recharged without any contacts. Although we’re trained in things like electromagnetism, it was an intuitive shock for most of us. I remember Shiraz Minwalla how he couldn’t believe that it could be charged: but where does the CHARGE go into the battery?
Well, there’s no need for charge to travel from one piece to another. Induction is enough to make it travel in the upper gadgets.
As the previous post, was about the holographic principle, I thought this surface is a kind of realisation of that principle. Namely, all information, needed to the gadgets operate in our three dimensional world, is stored in a two dimensional surface (it’s a joke).
Thanks for your blog, despite I am a pedestrian, I enjoy reading it.

Hi Dmitry,
I’m guessing it might be a fine-wire mesh working like a DC power supply distributed on a two-dimensional pad.
Cheers,
Ervin
Dear Lubos and Ervin,
yes! Charging and PS is due to EM induction. What surprised me is that they were able to support so many different devices.
The plate is called Powermat (as I understand, one cannot buy one yet, but will be able in several months).
Cheers,
Dmitry.

Dear Alberto,
you were the only one who picked the ultimate reason why I posted about it after discussing the holographic principle
Cheers,
Dmitry.
As it often happens, the video is no longer available…
Yesss, this is no fun. I’ll put another video, from Youtube – maybe, this will be around longer.
