113. Japanese inventors are always ahead
Uncategorized — By Dmitry Podolsky on November 27, 2008 at 5:30 pmSome 30-40 years ago there was a movement among Russian inventors amazingly popular at that time (not so popular nowadays) – for example, a couple of research institutes was entirely devoted to its development. The movement was related to the theory of solving inventor’s problems (TRIZ) first introduced by G. Altshuller and highly publicised – Soviet Union wanted its share in high tech industry starting to take off on the West and was going to get this share by acquiring international patents to newly invented Now Hows. TRIZ was considered a nice way to boost the creativity of Russian inventors
and, although you might not expect it, the theory and Altshuller’s algorithms actually worked – for example, Altshuller himself was the author of about 10000 (!) patents.
Nevertheless, as we know, Japanese were so much more effective in inventing and patent acquiring than Russians and today I am going to prove their effectiveness demonstrating some of the their recent inventions. It will be clear for you why Japanese took US and European market shares by tour de force, as it became clear for me why Soviets ultimately lost the patent wars to Japanese – Altshuller has clearly never had courage to invent such things, even with the help of TRIZ. And here is the proof:
1) the situation when the cold you caught is too overwhelming is familiar to you, isn’t it? How often do you feel that you are strongly in need of such a gadget:

Aren’t you just not brave enough to be the first to invent such a thing?
2) Do you hate loosing pieces of butter from your toast? Don’t be afraid, butter stick is the ultimate solution of this problem!

3) Are you hard working man or woman? Are you aware how hard is it to get a nap on the way to your work? That’s what will help you, stabilize your shaking head, so that you will finally be able to relax a bit:

Or use this invention if you did not find the place to sit:

4) How often do you come to a Chinese restaurant to find that your noodle soop is too hot? Here is the high tech solution that will help you:

5) Did you ever were in the situation when having umbrella does not help at all, and you are wet from the top of your head to your toes? Here at Helsinki it happens way too often, and here is the solution I always dremt of:

6) If you are a fashionmonger but live in Helsinki, then you’ll find the following thing helpful:

7) And finally – my favorite. You’ll love it if you have a baby – since your floor will be always clean!
